Michael Perilstein - Anybody knows?
Hi. Does anybody out there know what is Michael Perilstein's WHERE EVIL LIVES? It seems to be a horror movie (or something like that) with the late Claude Akins as an actor, but I haven't found any information anywhere... I suspect it's not a real movie. But then, what is it? Please, anybody knows?
Thanks,
Angel

Thanks David.
After listening to the interesting DEADLY SPAWN score (which I really liked) I purchased that other Perilstein soundtrack (?) at Amazon for less than $1 (by the way, it's not so good than the first). The inclusion of Claude Akins as a member of the cast of what seemed to be a highly cheese film, made me looking for information about it, but I didn't find anything. Is it a fantasy or a joke by the composer Michael Perilstein? Is it a never released or even unfinished movie? All this is a mystery to me...
Thank you and see you...

Thank you very much!!!
Now it looks like a real movie. But what you point out about that guy named Steven Jude is a new beginning to the mystery. He is also listed as the "set dresser"... Anyway, it's strange this presummed film doesn't appear in the IMDB.
Again, thank you very much for your answers,
Angel

The mystery is solved: the score was by Michael Perilstein which explains why the CD has his music from the film. Other information would be incorrect and a mistake (as is frequently made -- even on this website).

My reply was to Angeldibujo, not to you, and it was both accurate and in answer to her question.
Just trying to keep the record straight.

I was one of the Directors of "Where Evil Lives". My name is Steve Maier. I Directed one of the three segments "Hubert's Homecoming". The film was shot in 1991 in Stuart Florida on a modest budget.Claude Akins played the evil Caretaker.Unfortunately the film was never distributed.Michael Perlstein was chosen because Freinds of mine in Film School in New York had used him for a number of their Soundtracks. It is very sad that this film never was distributed being that one of the other Directors of the film Richard Fox is a big shot Director in Hollywood. I would think with his connections he could have this done. The pictures on the Soundtracks cover are actually pulled from 16mm frames.

I am Steven Jude. I worked on Where Evil Lives in the early 90's. I was 1st AD and a few of my songs are in the soundtrack. I don't think the film ever went into distribution. I still remain friends with the Directors Stephen Maier and Richard Fox. I am currently working with Stephen Maier. He is directing an upcoming video from my new Album Neon Dream and I am on the board of directors in his film company. You can hear my new music at: www.myspace.com/stevenjudefanclub
Where Evil Lives starring Claude Akins was a student film that spawned successful artist, that continue to work in the entertainment business. We had a hell of a time working on that film!

I believe my songs were removed from the original soundtrack due to a conflict of interest with the producer. If they are in the soundtrack and being sold....where's my money?
