Baby-Secret Of The Lost Legend
eBay item 250020808658
My question is not if these are official releases or not because they aren't.
I don't know if this sounds ignorant on my part but please bear with me and explain to me, where do sellers like this one find this never released music or the extended music or even the rejected scores to make such soundtracks and why aren't these so-called complete recordings or rejected scores released by legitimate record labels specializing in film music once and for all? Thanks*

Great question & the answer is many fold. From my experience of working in the film industry, like so many great unreleased scores, they rest rotting in cans, mainly in part due to GREED!!!
The unions want their share of the cake, the composers need their share & of course the studio needs their share, last but not least the label need to make a profit to stay in business & produce more great cds. Throw in a huge amount of lawyers & copy right experts & behold you have a massive amout of out lay for what really is a very small & specialist market.
In most cases it just becomes too costly to be worth the effort. It is 1 of the reasons I am always grateful for those labels, Intrada, Film Score Monthly, Verese Sarabande Club, Prometheus, Perserverence, Percepto ( if I have missed anyone many apologies), who labour so hard for a very little return. It is in my opinion a labour of love for these people as well as a business, as I'm certain, that if the majors looked at their bottom lines they would have a heart attack!!!!! about effort v's reward.
It is sad to say that it all boils down to money, but then these very talented people do deserve their share I suppose it's just how much it's worth.
The biggest problem though does often land with who actually owns the music, movies change hands & the rights go here there & everywhere & sometimes it's just a case of no one really does know & you can bet if a label went ahead blindly, the owners or supposed owners will appear & demand some crazy sum & therefore it's best not to enter such agreements unless the owners are certain.
Whatever you may be liestening to, enjoy the music.

Andrew
