Question

*OSCAR* for *BEST JAMES BOND FILM SCORE*

Hi there!...

If you were a member of the 'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' and had the painstaking task to vote out of the twenty-one James Bond film scores since 1962 till today including "Never Say Never" for the Oscar for 'Best James Bond Film Score', which film score would you vote and why?

You Only Live Twice (J. Barry) for the beautiful theme used in for example the track "Mountains and Sunsets".

I think that almost all early Bond scores composed by John Barry deserve Oscar - Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever.
Now guess which Bond score will get my vote.... :)

Of course OHMSS :) - for great themes (We Have All The Time In The World, Main Theme, Who Will Buy My Yesterdays), excellent work with moog synthesizer, beautiful lyrical music, exciting action, terrific suspense (Gumbold's Safe) and delicious lounge music.

THUNDERBALL-for all the extra work and distractions---------redoing the title song from KISS KISS BANG BANG -stopping scoring to do the soundtrack LP---------- Barry gave us a helluva a score. I think THUNDERBALL is the quintessential Bond title song, and his reworking of the 007 theme for the action pieces is great.

I would go for:
Diamonds Are Forever
