Question

Favourite score for a TV movie or miniseries

What is your favourite score for a TV movie or miniseries?
Please, chose works done by one only composer.

My choice is BRIDESHEAD REVISITED (1981), by Geoffrey Burgon.

Cheers,

Angel

G.B.H. by Elvis Costello and Richard Harvey. I'd also love to see John Cameron's score from JACK THE RIPPER (starring Michael Caine, 1988) released, although I doubt this will ever happen... A CD release of Joseph LoDuca's score from AMERICAN GOTHIC would be great as well!

Hello,

There are so many, But the one I play quite often is the cd score from the BBC TV series "Rhoades" composed by Alan Parker. Great music!

Best Regards,
David Phoenix, AZ.

My choice is JAN HAMMER for MIAMI VICE!
I know, there was a lot of good songs on this series but instrumental score remains really nice twenty years later...

Best Regards
Jordi Crockett
P.D.: If someone don't like this response, this is my response-A, MASADA, a great score from a great master!

2 of my favorite composers, Vladimir Cosma and Christopher Gunning, have created plenty of memorable TV music.

Let's just pick MICHEL STROGOFF and POIROT as one brilliant score by each.

I'd have to say Rich Man Poor Man by Alex North as well as East Side/West Side by Kenyon Hopkins.

The Fugitive (Pete Rugolo)

BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ (1980) - Peer Raben

i'd also say twin peaks, but it's not a tv movie nor a miniseries, it's a tv series.

Have to go more into the past...
"Die Schatzinsel" (Treasure Island) in the sixties would be my choice!

I deleted Chips/Season 2, Police Story (pilot), Hercules: The Legendary Journeys since they were not miniseries or TV movies per se.

Does "Jesus Of Nazareth" qualify?

Sure it qualifies Serifiot! Great score, indeed.

Anyway, you didn't have to delete your previous answer. In fact, I think that the pilot from POLICE STORY (just like any other pilot) can be considered a TV movie.

Best regars, :-)
