Inchon VERY LIMITED re-release by Intrada
Hopefully a lot of REAL soundtrackfans read it before the eBay-sellers do
(you know who they are) get their hands on the most copies!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
from the Intrada site:
INCHON
Special 2-CD premiere release of complete Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack
for Korean War epic with Laurence Olivier, Ben Gazzara. 1982 LP release
was excellent 38-minute artistic presentation edited by composer.
1988 expanded CD (with compromised sound) added cues but composer still made edits.
Now complete score appears in correct sequence per original session paperwork,
contains complete cues as recorded. Newly remixed & remastered from multi-track session masters.
Hear certain bars of dynamic score fully restored for first time since July 1980 recording sessions!
Special bonus offers CD premiere of composer's own original LP version,
prepared from recently located album masters!
Two dramatically diverse CD presentations of exciting masterwork for price of one!
16-page booklet with color stills plus new text detailing different versions,
full track info, more. Jerry Goldsmith conducts.
Special Collection 2-CD limited release of 1500 copies!

Order one fast, this one might be gone before the weekend (just a guess...)
enjoy the music,

Just ordered one.
Is a great item for a fair prize. Hope Intrada continues with its efforts of releasing long out of print soundtracks. Some titles come to my mind.....
Greetings

Already ordered.
Get this one quick before it'll disapear.
Now I hope that Intrada will also reissue other OOP and expensive Goldsmith's scores like Night Crossing, Rent A Cop and Warlock.

I second RENT-A-COP! Lovely 1980s muzak! :-D But I think there is no chance we will ever see another - legitimate - release of that. It got released twice (if I don't err) and the longer the 1980s are over, the less people who don't know RENT-A-COP will want to hear it. I for my part like it much more than the usual Goldsmith favourite scores of that time (Rambo).

Urs

Inchon is now sold out. 1500 copies in less than 24 hours ! Amazing. let ´s see what´s going on at ebay.
Greetings
Peter
PS.: Wim, did you had any response from Varese concerning Tracklist ´Serpent and the rainbow´?
peter-anselm, September 6, 2006; 10:41 AM

That was fast (maybe a new record for selling out 1500 units?)
I really hope that Jerry fans were first.
If you did not order it already, just keep your eyes open for the other online-shops, before eBay.
Maybe Intrada has a few left (if you just throw Inchon in the shopping basket,
a red text appears, "this item can be back-ordered"
Whatever that means for a limited release, I have no idea, but maybe worth a try.
@ peter-anselm, I have not heard from Varese about Serpent and the Rainbow.
Somehow I don't expect an answer anymore, but if I do, Í'll post it here.

Hmmmm, they may have an option of a 2nd pressing, if necessary !!
But I think it is more likely that they reserved a certain quantity for European distribution through B.F.S.
After B.F.S. placed the order they will certainly sell the remaining copies to the fans (I hope) !!

Wow, now that's what I call a bug !!
But seriously, this whole "limited edition" stuff is beginning to annoy me and labels like Intrada should not be surprised that the grey market for this stuff is ever growing.
