Missing Star Wars Music.
Does anyone know if the music missing from the "Return of the Jedi" soundtrack is available? It is the music that is played by by Jabba the Hutt's band just after Chewbacca is "sold" by the bounty hunter Boush. The same music can be heard again as Jabba's Sail Barge makes its way across the desert. If anyone could tell me what this piece of music is called and where I may purchase a copy of this music I would be extremely grateful.

If you join th John Williams fan Network and ask them in the message board I’m sure they will point you in the right direction. They certainly helped me with a rare star wars item I was looking for.

Have you checked if the track you want is "Jabbas Baroque Recital"
which is on the Return of the Jedi [Deluxe Remastered Version] soundtrack? This is the most recent release (2004), and not the one from the days of "Star Wars Special Edition"
I have this soundtrack as part of a trilogy boxset (silver box), which came with a holographic sort of cover; I believe it says every note of the score is present, and from the top of my head, I think that music is the "baroque recital"
Have a look on Amazon.com; this lets you listen to a 30 second preview. Its Track 13, disc 1. Amazon.co.uk doesnt let you do it.
Put this code in the search box, and it will take you to the correct product: B0002YCVK6 (You'll probably have to click the link to view all tracks on the disc)
I hope this helps, let me know the outcome

No, it's never been released. I heard tale that that piece of music has been lost ever since its inclusion in the documentary From Star Wars To Jedi. Hope it's located on day....if there is indeed any truth to that rumor. Nice track. It'd be nice to have the film verion of Lapti Nek also. The album version is horrid.

You Know. I’m getting quite confused with all this star wars music stuff I have the anthology box set from 93 or what ever it was, for the time I was quite happy with it’s completeness of the music until.... I then swiped my card through Lucas’s cash register again in 97 for the special edition soundtracks. By now at this time I’m thinking that I’ve got the whole scene covered, you know what I mean. I then find out that they are re-released again.( And I also hear they are due for a box set next year) Is there any difference to these latest recordings? My cd cabinet is getting heavier and my wallet is getting lighter. Why don’t they get it right first time? Answer.....£££££££, what else! Yet I still love the music... Trapped!!!!!

re: ewok celebration film version
Is that not, as claimed, on disc 4 of the anthology, Petr?

The portions of missing music are as follows...
Lapti Nek by Sy Snootles & The Max Rebo Band (Movie Version) - never released... a 12" single was issued with remixes but the movie version had never been released.
Rebo Band #1 & #2...
These are cues from where Boushh accepts Jabba's offer of 35,000 for Chewbacca and then max rebo kicks in with this missing cue... It has been heard clearly in "From Star Wars To Jedi: The making Of A Saga" in 1987 - only to be drowned out by Mark Hamill's voice over after 4 seconds...
The second cue where we first enter Jabba's Sail Barge (max Rebo again...) has never been released...
There have been rumours of them being on bootlegs from a 1986 audio cassette... but these are just rumours as such...
As for the movie version of the "Original" Ewok Celebration - this was infact on disc 4 of the Star Wars Trilogy Box Set 4CD - 1993...
It however cues into the end titles of The Empire Strikes Back...
Hope this helps....
Steve :-)
