Hellboy (Varese Sarabande) Multiple Track Faults?

I recently acquired the VSD release of Marco Beltrami's Hellboy (in Europe). The thing is on some tracks, every six seconds theres a little "click" sound which really irritates me because of it's predictability. I played another, and it was the same. It's not the usual orchestral background artifact sounds.

Examples:

Track 1: at 50 seconds
Track 2: at 42, 48, 54, 59, 1m 5, 1m 10 seconds etc
Track 19: at 2m 1, 2m 7, 2m 12, 2m 18 etc

Does anyone else hear these?

I just want to know, because I would like a release without them!

It might be your equipment. Have u tried your PC or DVD player?

I have something similar with my Suspiria soundtrack which came with the DVD I had purchased. In one cd player I hear 'tik'/'clik' sounds and in another I do not.

I have tried my PC, my laptop, my sister's CD player; all the same

It is not your equipment! This is a known problem with every copy of the Varese release that I have tried - and I find that it almost ruins this outstanding score. I have contacted Varese and they will not acknowledge a problem. If you go to filmscoremonthly and do a message search you will see others with similar problems. Perhaps the Colosseum pressing is free of this problem?

There's no "click" sound on my Colosseum version.

Probably a couple of hundred of annoying ticks on my colosseum CD as well... suprisingly no answer to several emails regarding this problem to varese sarabande!

Why is Varese so arrogant?

Competely unprofessional!

Try the Japanese pressing. It's very rare that a Japanese pressing has any mastering faults unless it's on the master tape that way. And Japanese editions sound better too, if you ask me. But of course, they cost more money.
