BLACK DAHLIA & WICKER MAN

hELLO!

For the people who have bought these recent releases are they any good? Samplers can be misleading. Both composers are fine but I would like to get some feedback from you guys who have the soundtracks in your collection and perhaps have seen the movies. I'm not sure if the Black Dahlia has been released in theaters yet.

Hi Conjuctionjuction!

I've ordered both from Buysoundtrax, but I'm sorry to say I haven't received them yet (this dealer delivers really slowly). Both composers are enough interesting to take the risk of ordering without having listened to the music. Besides that, the autographed booklets are an added bonus, aren't they?

Good luck and best regards,
Angel

Yes they are especially Isham.

What about the movie?

I saw the film The Wicker Man which was one of the poorer films I viewed this year. The score from Badalamenti was quite good and one I could recommend to you. I have the Isham score and refuse to comment much until I see the film. I think it is important whenever possible to view the film and then judge the music.

Thank you all! From the sample tracks I can say Isham's work sounds good but I also like The Wicker Man score's dynamic string variations. I'll get both.

P.S. I just read not so many nice words for the movie Black Dahlia.

BD is really quite a stong score, though to be honest ive not collected many of his scores. The mix is particularly strong so expect quite a sound regardless of you audio equipment, i recieved mine on tuesday from Buysoundtrax, sadly it had some scribble mark on the inlay, took ages to clean away !!!!!!
