Original Intrada Inchon
With all this interest in the re-issued Inchon, what is happening with the original Intrada release? Is it still easily available? Does anyone have both and have you done a sound quality comparison? How much "new" score is on the re-issue? Just curious. I have the original but missed out on the new one. Thanks.

---Is it still easily available?---
No, it's been out of print for a while, and it's quite hard to find.
---Does anyone have both and have you done a sound quality comparison?---
I don't have both, but according to the liner notes, the sound on the new CD is VASTLY improved, and everyone who's made any comment about it says the same.
---How much "new" score is on the re-issue?---
Only a few minutes, but it also has the original LP presentation, if you count that.---I have the original but missed out on the new one.---
It's not worth spending a lot getting a second-hand copy of the new CD, but if you do find an opportunity to get it cheap, I strongly recommend you take it.

I picked up a vinyl pressing of the original release for $1.00 down in Tampa Florida a few months ago. Photograph of Laurence Olivier on back cover looks like a poorly done wax statue of MacArthur. Pretty bizarre stuff!
Recency records. The label responsible for the original release of "First Blood" from Goldsmith as well.

In response to your question, yes, I have both copies of Inchon.I have compared the sound quality on both the old and new release.I played them both together, side by side, and I for one could NOT tell any difference in the sound quality.I expected a vast improvement in sound quality with the new Inchon, but to be perfectly honest,I still believe the old edition is of excellent sound quality, and find it hard to fathom why Intrada, bothered to reissue it.Keep your original issue, and dont bother with the reissue.Hope this helps.
