Advice on collection...
Hi chaps... Just wondering if anyone has any experience/ideas on the best way to go about selling off an entire collection? 600-ish CDs, preferably in one go... I can't face the idea of faffing about on eBay, yet I want to make sure I get a fair amount for them...
Any advice/ideas greatly appreciated.
Dave.

Is your collection an average soundtrack collection? Does it include a lot of rare and out of print titles? How much are you asking? Are you happy with USD$3000.00 for you collection? Do you want more? Are you looking to make some type of profit or not?
These are questions you might want to consider.
Making an offer to a big internet soundtrack dealer, a local record dealer in your area or even a small ad in the newspaper might be an easy solution and a good idea but I believe you most definetily would get much less than if you would sell each soundtack individually or by composer, record label, or even by film music genre.
It would have been helpful if your collection was posted here with Soundtrack Collector's database. I'm pretty sure some members would have shown serious interest.
Good luck anyway and be patient.

Screenarchives also buy used CDs. They could be interested in purchasing your whole collection. Ask them.
Mmmm... I'm pretty sure you have a lot of interesting titles that some of us (SoundtrackCollector users) would pay well.
Best of lucks,

With a collection of that size, you probably have some rare CDs that command high prices, and some more common ones that do not. If you want top dollar, individual eBay listings for the rarities would bring you the best prices. Lumping CDs in lots may eliminate some potential bidders, because collectors are likely to already have most of the lot.

Hello,
If I were you I would sell the rare cd's seperate on ebay or put a list of them on a post here for sale. Take the common cd's to a local used cd store and sell them all in one shot.

If you are in the UK then I would be interested in purchasing the CDs in one go. I can also sell them on your behalf over a longer period of time. The latter approach would yield you more.
Depends whether you have a lot of titles/composers I havent heard or labels such as Intrada or FSM that I dont have so many of.
The quality of the CDs makes quite a difference to the price especially to the rarer CDs.
Regards.

Whats your email address? - i'd like to look at the list with a view to possibly offering on them.

If complie a list available for distribution and offer it to be e-mailed you WILL get the price your looking for for the individual CD's. (People at this website just LOVE to cherry pick lists.) After they cherry pick the CD's and you sell them to the fiends that visit this website, then take the ones that you aren't able to sell and either Ebay them in one shot, or sell them to a Resale shop. and realize some profit for those.

PS: if you complie a list, e-mail me a copy to jgoldbergmk5@yahoo.com
