COMPLETE Casino Royale to be released on iTunes next week
I know this will trigger the most controversial responses one can imagine, so I'll refrain from my own comment until later... ;-)
From http://www.soundtrack.net/news/article/?id=860
"Sony Classical to release the entire Casino Royale score on iTunes
Release Date:(11/09/2006)
The James Bond phenomenon gets a new lease of life - in the form of the new Bond, Daniel Craig - in director Martin Campbell's Casino Royale, for which composer David Arnold returns with an exciting original score. Exclusively to iTunes, Sony Classical will release Arnold's entire score for Casino Royale - including the content of the CD release plus 13 additional tracks - making it the most comprehensive Bond film score recording ever offered. This deluxe edition of the complete score for Casino Royale will be available for download beginning Tuesday, November 14 - three days prior to the film's nationwide opening on Friday, November 17."
UPDATE: It seems the extra tracks total only 13 minutes.

We're headed down a bad, bad road with this crap. This is completely ridiculous.

agree, this is indeed the wrong way.
I don't support iTunes or any other download stations.

I don't agree with the idea that some tracks are exclusive to any one medium since it
obviously disadvantages those that can't or won't access it.
Is there a parallel though to situations like the one that occurred with The Core sountrack?
Wasn't that only ever available as a gift to people who bought Young's Tower score (correct
me if I'm wrong on this). It meant that for all those who, for whatever reason, chose not to
buy The Tower but would have loved The Core if they'd been allowed to buy it, were denied
the opportunity?
Consequently The Core has become a big collectible and a big bootleg item. Chances are
Casino Royale will go the same way now.
Basically I think if you're going to release something then just release it to everyone, across
all media.
