***HARKIT CD RELEASES***

This might seem as an oddball's posting but frankly on this lazy Sunday I am trying to alphabetically organize my soundtracks by record label to keep busy as I'm currently listening to a few of the Harkit soundtrack releases I have in my possession.

I must say that most of the music I've listened to and still are listening to is great!

I tried to do the whole thing with pen and paper but it's too much of a bloody chore.

Organizing them on my PC proves much easier where I can see at a glance the ones I have - marked with an asterisk - and which ones I am missing and perhaps need to acquire.

I believe the list which follows must be the complete Harkit Records list of soundtracks which I've made for personal use and thought of adding it here since it might be of use to some other fellow soundtrack collector as well.

Please feel free to add any past, current, and upcoming Harkit releases I might have missed and have not included on this list or any other comment.

Any recommended Harkit releases I should purchase?

I'm curious to find out which ones you have, if any.

Thanks people!...

Answers

okay David... thanks!

I guess the one listed here in SC's database must have the wrong label number.

I'm assuming there was only one 2005 Harkit release for this title with 13 tracks.

I own just one Harkit CD: Komeda's ROSEMARY'S BABY. As far as I know, the Harkit CD is the most comprehensive release of this soundtrack, adding three interesting bonus tracks (2 demo tracks and 1 cover version) to the 21 score tracks previously available on other labels of this score.

I think I can recommend it when you like creepy music... ;-)

Is KLUTE released in 2006 HRKCD 8007?

HRKCD 8007 doesn't seem right.

I don't have the cd in front of me but HRKCD 8217 seems to be more correct.

Thanks Urs, I have the Polonia re-release as well as the Tsunami one. I might get the Harkit as well. Quite creepy indeed. I luv it! Excellent movie as well!!

Now if I could only find an internet store that sells all these Harkit releases quite cheaply!

serifiot, November 12, 2006; 5:04 PM

Perhaps, since their KLUTE LP was first released back in 1999.

I usually buy mine from 'play.com'... which does nor charge any shipping charges! I just ordered "The Parole Officer" for only 8 euro.

I like Chris' Sountrack Corner as well. The store has some unusual rare titles. In general they tend to be more expensive than their American counterparts.

I had found "Il Disprezzo" by Piero Piccioni (also scored by Georges Delerue) but by the time I convinced myself to purchase the pricy hard to find Digitmovies OOP release, it had been sold to someone else. Luckily I found it at another internet store a little less.

Unfortunately Amazon does not ship to where I am unless I devise a 'secret' arrangement to buy it directly from the seller.

Regardless of what some soundtrack collectors think, I have to admit that all the Harkit releases I own so far are fine.

Hi Serifiot!

I'm also a big fan of Harkit releases. The ones in my collection are:

- BEDAZZLED - Dudley Moore
- MODESTY BLAISE - John Dankworth (2001 release)
- BARBARELLA - Charles Fox
- KLUTE - Michael Small
- 30 IS A DANGEROUS AGE, CYNTHIA! - Dudley Moore
- LAS VEGAS, 500 MILLONES - Georges Garvarentz
- BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS - Stu Phillips
- GOODBYE GEMINI - Christopher Gunning
- THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS - Krzysztof Komeda
- ROSEMARY'S BABY - Krzysztof Komeda

By the way, the cover art of my MODESTY BLAISE copy is slightly different to the image appearing in this site. Both show the same illustration taken from the film poster, but in my copy you can see more of the body of Monica Vitti, and the "Harkit Records" label appearing in the front cover is different from the one showed in this cover: http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/images/cd/large/Modesty_Blaise_HRKCD8002.jpg.jpg

Do you know if there are two different covers for the 2001 release of this soundtrack?

Best regards,
Angel

Nice selection!...

The only front covers I'm aware of are the one in SC's database and the 2004 re-released 19 track version.

Even though what you are saying makes things slightly more complicated, there must be more than one 2001 release since your copy is slightly different.

All Amazon.com websites have the same list of countries they will not ship to for whatever reason.

I can only place an order and purchase available items sold directly by amazon.com and not through their represented marketplace sellers (z-shops) which 99.9% of the time sell the same exact items for much less.

I have to contact each marketplace seller individually to explain the situation since most are not aware of these restrictive guidelines and literally plead with them in selling me the desired soundtrack. Quite a hassle!

See what I mean David? :- (((

According to Amazon.com's geographical knowledge, Greece is a tiny bit island somewhere off the Pacific inhabited by savage Neanderthals who live in caves and eat raw meat!

I'm seriously thinking of inviting them over for dinner!!...

serifiot, November 13, 2006; 11:27 AM

Must be the USA's retaliation for Greece hosting the letter box address of the Membran label... ;-)
