Good Soundtrack Retailers

I just wanted to start a thread that others could add soundtrack retailers to. Of course, the noticable ones that come to mind for me (that I shop from most often) are: buysoundtrax.com, screenarchives.com, varesesarabande.com, lalalandrecords.com, intrada.com, eBay, Amazon, Barnes & Nobles.

I was just wondering if there are some other good retailers or websites that sell soundtrack scores that have a good selection. I, in the past week, visited a Barnes & Noble store, and was really suprised at the wide selection of hard to find scores they had. It was really a pleasant suprise. Any info on aditional places I (or anyone) could look at would be most appreciated.

I would only use PayPal for BSX (buysoundtrax) if I was you!

sushislash, November 15, 2006; 6:09 PM

I wouldn't buy from BSX at all!

Oh...and Tower is on it's way out.

BSX is very VERY slow, and they don't readily reply to e-mail inquiries, but they've never ripped me off, so I still recommend them if they have something for sale that can't be found anywhere else. Tower Records is a sinking ship for sure, but there are still a few buried treasures to discover if you search hard enough. Admittedly, however, I haven't ordered from them in years.

Tower Records might seem to be a sinking ship but their prices are not sinking in value at all!

Thanks for all the info. everybody. Great lists. If Buysoundtrax does'nt start waking up and answering e-mails and not selling things that are not in stock, they will be a sinking ship

Remember supercollector.com & cd soundtracks?
What happened to those retailers?
Isn't BSX related to supercollector.com / cd.soundtracks.com in some way?
I believe Mark Banning was involved with those retailers or worse, was the driving force behind those retailers along with his wife Yvette Banning.

Bad habits die hard!

I've bought from BSX a couple times, never had a problem. One order I got from LaLaLand (2 cds) showed up nearly mutilated. The cds, thank goodness, didn't get scratched. But the cases were cracked horribly. Don't think it was really LaLaLand's fault though, I mean, it was in a good packaging of bubblewrap. I suppose every now and then you have to expect that a lazy or careless package handler will get a bit rough with your goods. It happens.

drakemarone, November 16, 2006; 9:51 AM

drakemarone, it's not the cracked cd cases the core of the problem. It's the fact that BSX has an overall unprofessional attitude for conducting business. I have nothing personal with this retailer but the truth is they hardly respond to e-mails and if they do it is a month after, they don't have their advertised items in stock, they charge your credit card even if the item is not in stock and then offer you or send you unheard of titles to compensate or make promises which they don't keep, they take too long to ship their items, some of their items have drill holes, they lie to and bull shit the customer once you get a hold of them, etc.
Yes, quite a few of their items are interesting but again, I would use PayPal to be safe.

sushislash, November 16, 2006; 10:45 AM

Well, I've always went with PayPayl to cover myself, and I wasn't saying that I got cracked cases from BSX, they came from LaLaLand Records, but that's not the point I understand. I realize that just because I haven't experienced problems with BSX, it doesn't mean others haven't. I'm grateful for not having any problems yet, but as fars as selling something they don't have; most of their items will say that it isn't in stock, so that's kind of a no-brainer to me. Unless of course, their listing that it's in stock, when it isn't. That's another story. Although, I agree, I think it's a bit lame to advertise something like a soundtrack when you don't have one in stock. It's a bit misleading. And I would never purchase a soundtrack on the hopes that someone will send it to me when it becomes available again. LOL, I've seen BSX put that text next to out-of-stock items. It's sad though to know that they have conducted such shady business with people. I was warned very early on to be weary of them due to the fact that they apparently don't take to much care in their packaging methods. As stated before, I haven't recieved damaged goods from them yet, but I've only ordered from them twice. I've been told that care with shipping items is most appreciated at Screen Archives.

...and Intrada, FSM, amazon.com, footlight, and others package well.
