Question

I can't find any information on this song and it's driving me crazy

Hi, I was wondering if any any of you very savvy folks would be able to help me out with a specific song that I can find no further information on. The challenge is that the song is from the edited spoof of "The Shining", known as "Shining", by Robert Ryang. You can find a copy of this short film at the editor's website:

http://www.ps260.com/editors/robert.html

or just search 'shining redux' on google, youtube, whatever.

Anyways, the song in question is the piece with the piano that begins when the narrator states "But sometimes, what we need the most is just around the corner". It ends when the song "Salsbury Hill" starts up.

The song sounds sort of like Newman's "American Beauty", and that's my cup of tea. Anyways, if anyone has any more information about that song, I'd really appreciate your replying here to help me out, especially seeing as the editor's own site gives no information.

Thanks so much,

baboruss.

The piano cue is from near the beginning of the track, Compass and Guns from Thomas Newman's The Shawshank Redemption. This is a really good soundtrack. Pick it up if you get a chance.

Haha thanks a lot! I knew it sounded like Newman's work...just couldn't quite place it. Definitely a beautiful score.

Thanks again,
