Here is the exact message that I received. This may help people to determine if thiHi There!

I noticed your post on Soundtrack Collector re Bad Boys. I am a soundtrack dealer, with direct access to many famous composers (including Conti) and a personal collection of over 11,000 scores. I have everything you can imagine, including promo versions of the score you're looking for. Proper pressed CD, not a CDr, complete with cover art. I run a private business selling film scores, so if you'd like to buy those the scores, let's do a deal ;-D.

If you would like me to send you my sales list (5000+ scores) please let me know ;-)

This is your lucky day, believe me. I sell extremely rare items at comparatively cheap prices - way cheaper than Ebay - which is rip off city. I have hundreds of satisfied customers, and if you'd like access to the rarest film scores, then I'm your man.

A few things:

1. I only sell proper factory pressed CDs - Not CDrs. If we do business, you will see this is true.

2. Postage is free on all items, anywhere in the world.

3. All prices I quote include insurance.

4. I have discounted offers all the time, such as buy 4 get 2 free, among others.

If you're interested, get back to me! Don't waste any more time looking for stuff you could have *today*!

Kindest Regards,

Jaimie

Well, there are certainly insiders in Hollywood who may do a business with scores but I would be very careful.

At least do not pay in advance !!

Best wishes

I received an email from this guy this morning claiming to have Hawk The Slayer on an original CD with original artwork and not CDR. If my memory serves me correctly, I dont this this soundtrack ever got a CD release. Of course, the more he tries his best to convince me the deeper the hole he digs. My email was the same as Joelfan71's except it referred to Hawk The Slayer.

Can i direct you all to this thread please. This guy was selling on ebay and a few of us questioned the legitimacy of his items, he then posted a long reply on here if you remember saying the same thing im a collector, composer promos etc etc, then threatened legal action on us all if we wanted to futher our claims? that post was then removed by Ton i pressume. the seller was removed from ebay also. Its entirley upto your self what you want to do but please take this information very seriously.

Yeah, seems a little fishy. I mean, free postage to anywhere. Wow, very generous. If I wanted to take someone for their money, I'd offer everything under the sun as well. The sad fact is, you never really know how a deal is gonna go when you're dealing with someone you don't personally know. You just have to make your best call, and hope for the best. And even sadder than that, you can't believe that everything you get from places like eBay is even authentic. I recently purchased a cd from a guy there, was told from a few people here that it was a bootleg copy. I asked him about it kindly, and he, in lengthy detail explained that it was not a bootleg. I'll have to wait to recieve the cd and find out for myself on quality. But, it was as chance I took. Whenever you don't buy from a retailer or trusted e-commerce site, you're taking a chance.

But, in regards to this guy, I would steer clear of something that looks this good. Cause the truth is, you PAY for rarities. Everyone wants their money for hard to find soundtracks. Good luck.

I agree with email. I've found out that a good practice before buying a questionable soundtrack from somewhere like eBay is to post the link here, you will be helped by the best for sniffing out bootlegs. Great to have the community here for soundtrack collectors.

I recieved an email announcing I've won the euro lottery and told that I should not make haste in collecting my prize of $300.000.000 American dollars.

My luck seems to be fabulous these days as I've won no less that several billion dollars over the past few months.

As soon as I have the time I'll collect my prize.

LOL !!!

anthonynputson, December 7, 2006; 12:05 PM

Lol, yeah, and if we look at that, what about the 100s of girls I have sending me e-mails that are just waiting with anticipation to hook up with me. I don't think I have enough time to get em all, lol. Oh thank goodness for e-mail, and all it's SPAM glory. What would life be without dozens of letdowns a day?

W@nt RoLEx?!

Me and this toad are having a very serious argument at the minute with a whole heap of expletives. The scumbag has bought me to his level. He slags this website in it saying we are bunch of hypocrites who seem to think we know everything. He then tried to justify the Hawk The Slayer CD as genuine by saying that Robertson's son 'Myles' is a filthy rich baron who doesn't give a shit about cash and gave him a CD because they are 'good buddies'. Check that shit out, I mean a shyster buddies with a Baron!? Mind you I have heard of worse associations. Bush and Iraq!? I digress. Yeah he really seems to be laying into me and this website.

LOL!!! not to worry Saint. I know quite a bit about this guy and its quite sad really!! and laughable at the same time!! Serioulsy though enjoy yourself with him, and take with a pinch of salt!!

anthonynputson, December 8, 2006; 9:19 PM

So to sum it up about this person, "DON"T do buisness with him". At least if your intetnion is to get ORIGINAL pressed cds. I think it is safe to go with my original line of thinking, if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't. No chance I would send ANY funds to this person without some verifable proof. Thanks to those who conttributed to this, and good luck in your searches!

Here is the follow up email I got concerning my questions about his service:

Hi Darryl,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Unfortunately, I have to revoke my offer to you. I do not appreciate being the victim of attacks on a public message board - attacks which are entirely without foundation. You did not need to create a post on soundtrack-collector. That board is full of self-righteous hypocrites who criticise everything and anything.

I am a genuine seller with a track record of trustworthiness and hundreds of satisfied customers. You can check my feedback on my ebay account (jules1o1o). My account is suspended because, as you may be aware, ebay is a cut-throat place. Rival soundtrack sellers nuke the competition by making repeated (and false) complaints to ebay about anything they can. This leads to legitimate sellers being suspended and clears the field for them.

I sell promos. The hypocrites on SoundtrackCollector foam at the mouth about people selling promos (or bootlegs) then they do the same things themselves, or buy them. The fact is, thousands of scores have never been released, thus they are only available in promo/bootleg form. My offers are genuine - and I *do* offer free postage on all items. Why? Because I can afford to, and it helps build up customer loyalty.

You could have come to me with your questions, and I could have provided all the answers you need, but you chose to do it the sneaky way.

And I have unrivalled contacts within the industry due to my job. I am in constant contact with many major composers and I obtain the majority of my scores directly from composers. With my contacts, I could obtain the scores to the two movies you've been looking for. However, in light of what I've explained about, I think it's best if we forget it.

J

I'm a bit confused here...

What exactly are we accusing this guy of?

Admittedly, it seems unlikely that someone would have access to so many rarities, but it's not out of the question for someone in the industry.

Has anyone actually received anything dodgy from him? As he states, his eBay feedback is very good - any complaints seem to be about him not accepting Paypal, which he states clearly in the item descriptions.

Obviously, you have to be wary of anyone claiming to sell rare stuff, but does anyone actually have any concrete accusations against this guy, other than "it sounds a bit dodgy"?

:)

Soundtrack.Collector, December 10, 2006; 2:27 AM

"selling promos (or bootlegs)"......so bootlegs are promo`s are they?

'but you chose to do it the sneaky way"......what was sneaky about asking advice? And who ultimately was the sneaky one?

While he was on ebay he was selling a shed load of promos (or bootlegs), Gremlins complete and alot of 2 disc scores, the types you see masses of on Ebay, and now he`s suspended and i wonder why??.

Do we really think a complete Gremlins exists as an official promo?

anthonynputson, December 10, 2006; 8:13 AM

I just got my first CD from him, Top Gun 1 CD with about 11 score tracks. PERFECT condition, no sound effects, or any other distrations. Very nice person and was very good to deal with. Not sure what he does for a living, but I'll be getting MANY more from him. I was going to get Baby Boom, but he checked it right before he was to send it and the sound was not up to his satisfaction so he let me know and then I got Top Gun and he put a copy of Baby Boom by Bill Conti as a nice freebee.
Thanks

He is no longer listed on Ebay. does anyone know how to get a hold of him? I am very interested in the Top Gun Score as well.

Pete you did business with him.. do you have his Email?
