Isolated James Bond Scores on DVD

Hi,

Does anyone know what list of James Bond DVD's have isolated scores? For the people who might have recently purchased or received as gifts the newest Ultimate Edition DVD's, do these include isolated scores as one of the many special features? I hope they do. Thank you.

I have viewed the previews Special Edition Bond DVD's which seemed fine but I am thinking of finally purchasing either the Special Edition or the Ultimate Edition Bond DVD's before they go OOP. Could anyone comment who has actually purchased the Ultimate Edition Bond DVD's on the overall production since these cannot be rented anywhere. I have heard rave reviews on the picture quality especially on the older Bond films but as far as the DTS sound I don't seem to find any reviews on the internet. I'm assuming DTS would sound better than DOLBY as long as one has the right equipment.

Thanks,

Greg

The only James Bond DVD including an isolated score is TOMORROW NEVER DIES. It included the isolated score on the previous DVD release ("Special 007 Edition") and the Ultimate Edition DVD of it includes the isolated score as well.

It is not listed as a feature on the packaging, but by now others who bought it confirmed that the Ultimate Edition version does include the isolated score, too.

What region is this? Is it 1 and 2, etc.? I wonder why they do not list that an isolated score is included in the special features. Is it considered a suprise? It is really a shame that in the Ultimate Editions not any of the Bond movies except the one you mentioned has an isolated score track. Perhaps in a few years when the next Bond movie is released they will come up with the Supreme Editions which would finally include isolated score tracks of the great Bond music used. Do you know what 'Easter Eggs' are? Thank you for your help.

One more thing. I am thinling of purchasing the 4 disc Ben Hur DVD release. I believe an isolated score is included in the region 1 release. What about region 2? I have found region 2 at an internet retailer priced less than the region 1 release. I wonder if usually region 1 DVD releases are the ones with isolated score tracks as oppossed to the exact same DVD's encoded with other regions. I'll hate to purchase region 2 and not have the isolated score. For some strange reason I think even though some DVD releases are exactly alike, their special features vary from region to region. I could be wrong.

Well, I personally believe it is a great feature along with subtitles and closed captioning that tends to be neglected by manufacturers and should be treated the same way. After all, music is an integral part of movie making. I would think that from an isolated DVD score track someone who is interested would be able to listen to all of the music used in the film whereas from the perspective soundtracks released one does not usually get a lot of the music used in the film and sometimes resorts to purchasing expanded bootlegs with more tracks.

Hi again,

I hate to disagree with coma, but according to all what I heard, the Region 2 version (the version sold in Germany) of the BEN-HUR 4DVD set does NOT include the isolated score track - the packaging claims that it is included, but it is NOT (I know this from a few buyers). I have heard rumors that the Region 2 version that is sold in the UK DOES include the score track, but I cannot confirm that from my own experience.

What I can confirm is that the Region 1 version of BEN-HUR (4DVD) does include the isolated score track. I own this version myself. Also, the Region 1 version includes a thick vintage booklet that is not included in the German version. This version also plays without any problem on my Region 2 player.

If anyone can contribute info on the UK version (isolated score track, booklet?), I would be grateful, too.
