Lord Jim (Kaper) - Nico Fidenco release?!
Next to the releases of Kaper's score for "Lord Jim" there was also an Italian release for this movie with music by Nico Fidenco. What's this? A different score for the Italian version?

Well here's a more informed answer...
Nico Fidenco was of course beside being a composer in his own also responsible for many cover themes of the famous movie themes -- a practice very common in the '60's. Hence in Italy many of his cover versions were released for themes like Exodus, Cleopatra ... and also Lord Jim. So it's not a different score but an interpretation of the Kaper's theme.

I have listed the tracks on the single. It is a coverversion from Italy. Italian popstars (Fidenco, Morandi, Dino, Rita Pavone etc.)did this a lot in the 60's. Also Morricone started his carreer as an arranger and orchestrator/conductor for a lot of these recordings. He was under contract at RCA Italy. Bacalov and Poitevin were also active in this field. Poitevin did the Lord Jim Orchestration.
