Song help/Klute Soundtrack
I have been desperately trying to get hold of the song played when Jane's character goes to the club and gets high. I have done all the tips suggested on this site for finding a song but have got absolutely nowhere. I have tried searching for the lyrics and gathering information about the soundtrack, as well as checking on imdb.com for the artist but I can only find the track name.
Part of the lyrics are "Take me high/Take me higher/I'm a rocket/I'm on fire" I know the soundtrack composer is Michael Small and "various artists" but I can't find the artist of this song. It is listed as "Bree's Abandon/Take It Higher" on the soundtrack and apparently the beat has been sampled recently on newer songs.
Anybody know who sings it? It sounds like a female voice to me...

I've emailed Harkit and hopefully I'll FINALLY find out the artist of this song. As I said, I've searched everywhere trying to find this out!

Are you sure Michael Small isn't the composer of that song?
Regardless, you can always get it on the KLUTE cd.

Michael Small might be the composer, yeah, but there's a female singer [I think] and I really want to know who it is.

My guess is that it's the same performer on the Lalo Schrifin Dirty Harry score (another Warner brothers production from around the same year).
I can't think of her name right now.

Thanks for that tip, I'll look at the Dirty Harry soundtrack and try and find who you might be referring to.

I've all but given up really, I can't seem to find out from anywhere and I never did get a reply from Harkit Records...I guess I'll never know.

Notes
Considered a bootleg, this is the original vinyl pressing of the complete Michael Small score composed for Alan Pakula's "Klute".
The recording was pressed in a very limited edition of 1000 copies and is a much sought after LP.
Not a very good cover scan image, it's what I have to offer at this time.

The recording artist might be Claudia Lennear on the track Bree's Abandon (Take It Higher) from the Klute soundtrack composed by Michael Small in 1971.
