Song used on Dawson's Creek and What I Like About You

This is driving me crazy and I have done so many searches. There is a song that was played on the finale of the series "What I Like About You" that has the lyrics "you can break me into a million pieces, then you put me back together, like a puzzle of your very own." In searching, I've found that the song was also used in a promo for one of the DVD's of Dawson's Creek. Someone had posted on another forum asking about the song, and I was happy to see there was an answer, but it was the wrong song. This isn't a Jewel song, although it sounds like it's by a female artist in that same age range. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. It's like this song doesn't exist out there, I've tried every search engine, imdb, fan sites for the shows, and I'm coming up empty. Thanks!

When starting a post, it says:

"Looking for a SONG?

Dear soundtrack fan,

if you are looking for a SONG from a movie, we kindly ask you to do some easy research steps on your own first before you post a request here. We recommend that you do the following - these resources have provided solutions for numerous song searches before and might answer your question, too:

First of all, visit www.imdb.com and search for the movie the song is from. If you have found the movie at IMDb.com, check if there is a “soundtrack listing” link in the left-hand column. If that is the case, you will get a listing of all or most of the songs played in the movie.
Try our own database here, of course: Look up your movie by typing the movie title in the white search space in the top right-hand corner of this site. From the list of search results, we recommend that you check out the TITLES first. Browse through the tracklists that you get to see when clicking at the titles.
If you know a part of the lyrics, just search for that part of the lyrics in www.google.com or www.yahoo.com by searching for the lyrics party you know with quotation marks (" ") around them. For example, look for "a kiss is just a kiss" in connection with the word "lyrics" after it and you will immediately find many web sites telling you that it stems from the song “As Time Goes By” (from the movie Casablanca).
Eventually, if you still cannot find the answer, you can still try to post your question here, but we would really appreciate it if you first took the search paths we have recommended here.

Thank you very much and we wish you good luck in your search!"

Tharpdavenport, Believe me, I've done all of those things. No luck.

I've also checked out the Dawson's Creek music site, and no luck there, either. Thanks, though.

Hi there. I actually came across your question by accident. I know what song you are talking about. The song is used during the the Dawson's Creek DVD Trailer on the DVDs. The song goes like:
"Take me, then you can break me into a million pieces, then you put me back together, like a puzzle of your very own..."
I fell in love with this song just as you did, and sadly, I have found nothing just like you. The song may in fact only be a song used by Columbia TriStar, that may never be released on CD. If you have found anything on this song, please contact me at evil_silence@hotmail.com or post a reply. Thanks so much. Also, I have ripped the music from the DVD, so if you want that small little amount from the trailer, I'll send it to you.

Who is GEM? I tried googling that to see if I could come up with anything relating to this song, and I'm not finding anything.

The Beginning- Alice Peacock.

"The Beginning" was used in that episode, but it's not the one I'm looking for. "The Beginning" was used during Val and Vick's wedding. The song I'm looking for was used when Gary was flashing back on his friendship with Vince.

Thank you!! It is "Lovin you"! I just downloaded it from iTunes. Thank you again! The WB is on the last season of WILAY again, and if the finale came around again without me knowing what that song was, I was going to be tearing my hair out again.
