Forum - Looking for a soundtrack

Question

FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR missing songs??

If you peruse amazon.com often looking for soundtracks, maybe you're come across review for this flick already. It's part question, part review....and copied here:

IMHO...this OST ranks second only to The Transformers The Movie OST as best score of 1986. Not that I'm keeping track of what years have the best scores, but still, if it can come close to Vince DiCola's score for Transfomers, then it's gotta be damn good.

I site that score due to the fact that it's mostly electronic vs. orchestral, like FOTN here. Both are in my top 5 easy.

One big gripe I have with soundtracks or scores is lack of completion; if it's in the movie, put it on the soundtrack! There are several songs in FOTN that aren't on the soundtrack that was/is for sale. Specifically, the song playing in the car of 'geeks', which could be any of the following:

"Walk a While in my Blues" by Steve Tyrell
"You're the One That I Want" by ???
"Count on Me" by ???
"Lovefire" by Bob Esty & Michele Aller
"Trapped in my Mind" by ???

Source music is said to be written by Guy Moon & David Kitay.
If you know how to truly finish off the soundtrack, know where these tunes are, lemme know. The musical side of my id would greatly appreciate it. hehe

Point is; this soundtrack is most likely for the eclectic, perceptive person, not a member of the sheople society that plagues this little planet. It's for people who believe age is just a number & a state of mind.

Hey,
I've been looking for that song from the scene where Sarah Jessica Parker first enters his room at NASA and he's watching MTV. There was a really cool almost psychedelic music video playing in the background. I have never been able to find the name or artist of that song. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Yo, decadent84,

The song playin before and through Sarah Jessica Parker's first meeting with the David character is called "Lose Your Love" by Blancmange.

For future reference, use imdb.com. On any given movie page there is a link to soundtrack listing in the left column. Or if they don't list all the songs there, go to youtube.com and do a search for the movie there. Perhaps someone has posted all of the movie or just the credits.
I know that in the case of FotN, not all the songs in the credits are listed on imdb.com's page for FotN & FotN is now on youtube.com

Hope you find the tune, or get this message soon. I know I haven't been back here for at least a year and a half. Have to change that setting so I get emails when a response comes in. heheh
