Maurice Jarre's Mandingo (1975)
According to the database of this fabulous site, there exists a bootleg release only of Maurice
Jarre's music for the blaxploitation movie Mandingo (1975).
However, the tracklist here given is possibly wrong. Can anyone who owns this release (the
real item, that is) confirm the delivered information?
There are rumours that this tracklist belongs to a release recorded by a studio band named
Mandingo and that it has nothing to do with the movie at all.
The fact that the MJ 10365 release announces Mandingo and Topaz on its cover but contains
cues for the blaxploitation movie only seems to confirm the doubts.

Has anyone watched Mandingo recently?

No, it has not been on tv here in Ohio USA since I can't remember when. Great movie. They don't put things on like that anymore so as not to offend certain groups of people. Ridiculous. I remember when you could not even view the little rascals or Tarzan (Weismuller) on tv for quite awhile

Well, a pity, because watching the movie would help to solve this problem ...

Talk about political correctness. I picked up a recording awhile back to a French film scored by Manu Dibango. When I tapped the title into the IMDB for info it turns out the American release title for the film is "How To Make Love To A Negro Without Getting Tired".
I about choked on my tongue laughing!
Seems such a controversy was caused by the title no American newspaper would print the title in reviews of the film.
Funny thing is, the word "negro" in French is slang for writer.
