What is the exact difference between labels and compilation albums?
I wonder why some albums containing the complete score from two or three movies are marked as labels and others as compilations. Is there any rule which determines what exactly is a label and what exactly a compilation?

Most of the time, we mark albums as a label, when it contains the complete score of the movies that are on it.
We mark it as a compilation album when they contain only part or only one track of the score for a movie.

Thanks... still, there are some exact compilations which I believe they should be labels only, like label no. 4288 (Cosma Cinema Collection 13 - all the previous Cosma Cinema Collection albums are labels, and they always contain complete scores from the movies as this 13th volume does either) or maybe the label no. 26561 (from the Universal Bandes Originales series; all the other CDs from this series which I was searching for (Fantomas Trilogy or Flic Ou Voyou/Le Guignolo) are labels, and again they always contain the complete scores while this 26561 label is a compilation)

I'm afraid it's not an exact science...

I've heard the term "compilation" used to refer to a soundtrack album which is a collection of songs from a movie, but I've also heard the term used to refer to a soundtrack "compilation" in the sense of containing music from several different films. Works either way. I've never heard the term "label" used for a soundtrack with music from only two films, but having some albums like that, and having seen such recordings, I personally wouldn't refer to such a soundtrack as a "compilation".
Erwin is right: It's not an exact science.
