Music recommendation
Can you please recommend music soundtracks that would be great for a retail business to play. This is a premium denim store for women. We sell to all ages and want fun shopping music.

How about Morricone 2001. A compilation recording of themes from Italian cinema (1960's/1970's) with some pretty cool grooves along the way. Some might consider it musak for the jet set.
I could see any of the Dagored records compilation recordings as setting the mood for some pretty hip handbag shopping.

Hancocks ''Blow-Up'' just came to mind.

John Barry's Moviola is a great compilation and easy listening. Similarly Great Composers George Delerue 2 CD includes Rich and Famous, Steel Magnolias, Crimes of the Heart and more. A French Affair is a great double CD of romantic French songs not movie soundtracks. Includes She by Charles Aznavour as an example.

These are not strictly soundtracks, although cuts from these CDs have shown up as the background music to several current television series I've watched, so they're capable of making a great sound background. First ... Le Tigre ... very energizing. Better yet: anything by the Japanese group Pizzicato 5. In their albums, such as Happy End of the World, the music is very infectious -- very swinging '60s but mixed with modern electronica and great humor. "A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular!" as they sing. Just the thought of their music makes me smile.

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Der Wixxer by Andreas Grimm (only some tracks)

Just try to avoid anything by Kenny G. Who, in my opinion was an over rated hack when he experienced a moment of popularity due to a false sense of cool. There are few things more irritating than hearing the Kenny G Christmas record while shopping for groceries as early as 3 weeks before Thanksgiving.
Morricone 2001 complilation would give the shopping environment a 60's Technicolor Italian cool that few are fortunate to experience.
And don't forget the bowl of mints!

I think the preceding contributor has a point about Morricone 2001. Mid-century Italian soundtracks are the way to go! There are also the "Beat at Cinecitta" CD compilations. Boutique customers will feel as if they've stepped into one of those kaleidoscopic fashion photo-shoot scenes that frequently highlight stylish '70s giallos such as Death Walks At Midnight! Molto selvaggio!

Hello,
I would recommend a good Henry Mancini compilation cd. His music I think would work well for you.
Best Regards,
