"Ghosts Never Sleep" by Craig Stuart Garfinkle on iTunes

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to let you know that my score from this film is now available on iTunes in the US
and UK.

The film, starring Faye Dunaway and Tony Goldwyn, has a rather unusual structure in which
three timelines surrounding a single incident are played out simultaneously. That structure,
combined with the film's dark comedic tone, allowed for me to stretch my imagination. I
hope you enjoy it!

You can preview the score at this link: Make sure you copy all of it - your browser probably
won't format the link correctly.

Thanks David, happy to oblige.

There is no CD release planned as of now. This is a function of the situation:

Most of the time, when a composer scores a film, the composer forfeits certain wrights, for
example, to distribute a CD of their music independent of the production company.

But in this situation, because of the low budget of the film, I was able to retain all ownership
of my music as well as the ability to distribute the music on it’s own. Through some research
and some personal connections, I was able to arrange for the music to be released on iTunes
in most of the iTunes stores around the world at very little expense to me.

Releasing a physical CD, however, would require a significant up-front expense + shipping
costs to distribute the media. When soundtracks sell such few copies, the upfront costs often
don’t justify the expense.

As for the stores in which it is distributed: I was able to get the CD into most of the iTunes
stores worldwide, but as this is an English speaking website, I only mentioned the US and UK.

I hope you find this information helpful.

So how about a release of a score in this way where for a price the CD graphics are available so if a person would decide to record the score on a compact disc a cover would also be available.

Thanks for the Kudos on the score and the interest. I had no idea the film
had made it to Italy - that's great news.

Mostly I have been composing for theatrical trailers, such as "Harry Potter
and the Goblet of Fire," "Sin City," "Halo II," "The Lord of the Rings, Return
of the King" and many others. It's wonderful work, but often the music for
these projects is confined to a specific genre or concept that the studio has.

One of the main reasons why I chose to score this film was because the
director gave me the latitude to do something "a little off". I am glad to hear
someone noticed.

As for a physical CD, I can burn one at a time, complete with artwork, that I
would be happy to sell at a price similar to iTunes and ship anywhere in the
world. I just don't know what I would charge for the shipping. If anyone is
interested in this, you can email me at craigstuart@earthlink.net and I'll put
a bid together.

Thanks again,

Craig

Thanks again, all, for the interest in the soundtrack. It's great to know that some people
actually pay attention to the score when they watch a film and have so much passion for the
art form. CDs to follow soon…

All the best,

Craig
