I don't buy compilations like that anymore....I only want the original recordings of the full albums, not some wannabe thing like this.

The reason i purchased this C.D was because i do not have everything by John Barry.Anyway it is going back.Lesson learnt.

YOLT was not a "live" recording. Sony licensed the correct track but carelessly used Nancy Sinatra's Reprise hit single which was not arranged and conducted by Barry. The OHMSS track may not have been the original but it was Barry's own re-recording for an album back then and was pretty good.

They also licensed the correct (original) recording of the James Bond Theme but used Barry's own CBS re-recording. They licensed the correct version of SIT from MCA but carelessly included a 9-minute suite from Moviola. This resulted in two tracks being dropped due to lack of space (that puzzled me at the time because I had reckoned otherwise, but once I got the CD I understood).

Still, it could have been worse. JB asked them to omit The Persuaders as "uninteresting"!

Thanks for the info. Geoff. Heres one for you. What is the instrument omitted from the opening track of F.R.W.L .on C.D to that of the main title used at the beginging of the film.

I thought that was one of the best parts of the theme as heard over the opening credits. I can only assume JB decided to go the other way for the album. Pity!
