Spiderman 1 score cd mystery?

I ordered 5 Danny Elfman score cds at DeepDiscount and bought a the rare score cd to Dick Tracy on ebay. The 5 other cds are Batman, Batman Returns, Spiderman, Spiderman 2 and Edward Scissorhands.

Now here's the thing my Spiderman 1 cd was sealed but it didn't have the protective sticker on the top and it didn't have the yellow round sticker on it that the Spiderman 2 cd came with. When I looked at the play side it was strange there was a black label ring around the inner part where the laser lens reads and the writing in it says: Pitman Print sample. There on the play side as well are label thin strips on each side of the playside with black dots. This cd was unplayable in all of my cd and dvd players.

I had to go all the way to Cranberry Pa to get the only copy that Best Buy had and it had the stickers and seal and no weird thing on the playside and it read and played. DeepDiscount that I called back with this issue is going to send me a new copy and when I get it I will put the stickers from Best Buy on it and take it back with the reciept and get my money back. The disc does not look like a bootleg, it is a factory pressed cd not a cdr.

Has anyone ever come across a cd like this before? I had taken a digital picture of the playside for proof and verification to show anyone. The other weird thing is that I tried to call the phone numbers inside the booklet that states if this disc meets defects but the first number is disconnected and the other I get a busy signal.

Sometimes factory-pressed cds are bootlegs too. Actually most bootlegs are pressed.

even cdrs do not have to be bootlegs. take e.g. gabriel yared's troy, there are only a few original cdr copies, no pressed cds, and they are not bootlegs ...

This is not a bootleg goofballs. A bootleg isn't a pressed cd it is a cdr.

your spiderman situation interesting, however your last comment of

"This is not a bootleg goofballs. A bootleg isn't a pressed cd it is a cdr. "

is 100% completely untrue. Bootlegs (whethers its a soundtrack or an actual band, mainly with live shows) HAVE been/can be and still on ocassion will be actually pressed on cds. Pressed cd boots were especially big during the 90's before cdr tech fully hit the
mass market making everyhing much easier (and safer) to do

There are lots of bootlegs that are pressed cds.

All I know that that cd was not a bootleg cause it had vital information that is on the cd that is also on the replacement cd with the proper stickers. I found out that this cd was some kind of a first tester in the factory.
