The Legend Of The Lone Ranger by John Barry

On e-bay there is one CD for sale:
The Legend Of The Lone Ranger Soundtrack by John Barry. It looks like the CD is from MCA (like the LP).
What is this - a bootleg - or?

As far as I know this soundtrack has never been issued on CD, or does anyone know better.

It has never been released on CD (legit). It is a bootleg.

There is a bootleg CD of this score, but it is different. While the CD you linked seems to include solely Lone Ranger, the other one includes Game Of Death in addition. It does have an almost identical cover like the CD currently on Ebay though.

In other words: I also think there was never a LEGITIMATE CD release of THE LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER on CD.

Sorry Mark and Urs, you're both wrong. There has in fact been a legit release by MCA Japan.
It's awfully rare and as the release is generally as expensive, as the score is mediocre, I can't
recommend to go for it. (Information on this one has been submitted to the database some
time ago.)

As for the item on eBay, I'm sure it's a bootleg.

Cheerz,

David

PS: There's also a "Hurricane" bootleg out there, coupled with "Game Of Death".

Hello guys
Thank's for the reply.
I have the original MCA LP and have restored it on CD-R and it sounds fine. I will keep it that way.

OK, David...but is my assumption right that the MCA Japan CD release is a legitimate LP transfer?
