Does anybody have any information on a (possible) soundtrack release for the 1979 film The Onion Fields, starring Ted Danson and James Woods?

I like the film but have always felt the score could have been much better.
Deodato is a first class musician but didn't know how to go about scoring a film. If his music had been orchestrated by Jack Hayes, would have worked better. I could see it working damn well on a disc to listen to aside from the film but believe Elmer Bernstein could have done it more effectively.
