If you are referring to the expanded version (Metro label) of The Long Good Friday, I am afraid you are grossly mistaken. I have it and the sound is excellent.

I have just received the 25th anniv[ released in 2006] and it stated 3Disc edition. On openining it i found that the third disc is the silver screen original motion picture soundtrack, which i had anyway.and the sound is fantastic.[ 11 tracks as normal] I thought this might be useful info. for the people wanting the silva screen copy. Play.com £11.99

I have have bought the 25th anniv.of the film and it stated 2discs. 2 are DVD and the other is the original soundtrack,as released by Silva Screen.I also have this copy from 1989. I understand that the most recent release is crap and that it contains punk music with relevance to this film.
I recently saw the original [ silva screen ] soundtrack advertised at £289.
I just want to let people know whoever wants the score,to purchase the DVD [25TH anniv.]
which states on the box 2 discs when in fact it has 3[ 1 being the soundtrack]

I have heard the recent, non-Silva release of this score and anyone saying it is remotely
acceptable must be deaf. It is riddled with LP cracks and pops and sounds appalling.
Virtually unlistenable would be an apt description.
The Silva version is the only one to get. To say otherwise is a nonsense.
