Anyone love Hanover Street by John Barry?
hi,
as far as i know the score exist on compilation CD only
i got a compilation CD: Music from the Films of Harrison Ford, got one cue of about 9 minutes, great romantic score
Actually i love this more than Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, or even Dances with Wolves
Anyone know if a soundtrack ever made? or why it was never made?
thank you

Response to Anyone love Hanovert Street by John Barry?
I've no idea why Hanover Street hasn't seen a release yet, but I'd love to have the score on CD!
There is a bootleg supposed to float around, but I never saw one of these.

A superb score; the only official recording I know is the Silva Screen/City of Prague Phil. recording originally from the album: The Classic John Barry.
The sound quality of the DVD is pretty good (stereo) and the opening and closing titles provide a good, dialogue/SFX-free, listen. I was surprised just how much music there is in the score (nearly 50 mins, excl. the Christmas party big band sequence) and whilst the main theme is oft-repeated it is typical Barry: slight variations all of the time. The action and dramatic music is pretty good, too.
The movie score was conducted by Harry Rabinowitz.
