Japanese "Sukeban" ("Girl Boss") CD coming soon!
7-May-2006 - Hotwax Magazine/Solid Records is doing it again by releasing another sizzling compilation of 70's Japanese soundtrack music, this time featuring music from the "Onna Bancho" ("Girl Boss" sometimes also known as "Sukeban" films) series of films from the early 70's. Most of these films featured either Miki Sugimoto or Reiko Ike (a few of the films had both), two of the most sultry actresses in Japanese film history (in my opinion, of course). For those of you unfamiliar with this genre of films I'd advise you to pick up the "Pinky Violence Collection" DVD released by the US DVD producer, Panik House. The new Hotwax CD (release date: 5/24/06) contains many BGM cuts as well as some rare songs from the films sung by the Pinky Violence actresses themselves. Here is a link to the CD on the Solid Records webpage.
