Les Baxter’s Hell's Belles
20-Sep-2010 - La-La Land Records presents the CD premiere of Les Baxter’s original score to the 1970 AIP motion picture Hell's Belles, starring Jeremy Slate, Adam Roarke, and Jocelyn Lane, and directed by Maury Dexter. When hot-headed Dan out-drives the thoroughly vicious Tony in a motorcycle race and wins a brand new bike, he sets in motion a chain of events that includes one blazing gas station and a disastrous rock slide. Baxter’s groovy, full-throttle rock score punches this fun biker flick into overdrive with uber-catchy riffs, fun vocals and late 60’s rock-era spills and chills. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton and mastered by James Nelson, this special release presents the original LP presentation, remastered, along with more than 15 minutes of never-before-released film-version score tracks. The CD booklet features in-depth liner notes by film music writer Randall D. Larson. This is a limited edition of 1200 copies.
