Philip Sheppard's The Tillman Story
5-Dec-2010 - Lakeshore Records has released the score for the documentary The Tillman Story. It's about Pat Tillman, who never thought of himself as a hero. His choice to leave a multimillion-dollar football contract and join the military wasn't done for any reason other than he felt it was the right thing to do. The fact that the military manipulated his tragic death in the line of duty into a propaganda tool is unfathomable and thoroughly explored in Amir Bar-Lev's riveting and enraging documentary. Because the Tillman family was so persistent in their journey to uncover the truth, while the military was so persistent in their mission to hide the truth, the situation can be viewed as somewhat of a paradox. The music was written by Philip Sheppard (Henry VIII: Mind of a Tyrant, God In America).
