Paul Englishby's The Musketeers
Silva Screen Records presents
Original TV Soundtrack Series 2 & 3
Award winning composer Paul Englishby’s big and bold orchestral soundtrack perfectly complements the scope, ambition, humour and warmth of the BBC hit The Musketeers.
Produced by the BBC Worldwide and BBC America, the series stars Tom Burke as Athos, Howard Charles as Porthos, Santiago Cabrera as Aramis and Luke Pasqualino as D'Artagnan. Crossing blades, thwarting plots and delivering inspired one liners this version of The Alexandre Dumas classic is addictive viewing.
Jessica Pope, Executive Producer says “Adrian Hodges’ scripts were smart and funny; his stories had depth and truth, telling us about courage, morality, love, honour and friendship, and they deserved a score that would be exciting, immersive and full of emotion. Paul Englishby followed that on and revealed the epic and ambitious musical soul of the series with his beautiful, emotional and adventurous composition.”
In the best tradition of the composer-performer, Paul Englishby writes music for diverse media - Film, Theatre, TV, Dance and the Concert Hall, and writes Jazz for his Jazz band, The Paul Englishby Big Band. Paul is best known for his Emmy Award winning jazz inflected music to David Hare's Page Eight, his beautiful orchestral score to the OSCAR Nominated An Education (screenplay by Nick Hornby), the BAFTA nominated music for the BBC's Luther series starring Idris Elba, as well as his many scores for the Royal Shakespeare Company with whom Paul is an Associate Artist.
