The July releases from the Varese CD Club
29-Jul-2002 - Brian DePalma’s 1978 film The Fury resulted in one of the scores which added considerably to the growing legend of John Williams. This The Deluxe Edition presents the world premiere release of the original motion picture soundtrack recording, the bonus second disc features John Williams’ album re-recording of the score, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra and has been re-mastered for improved sound from its original CD release.
Jerry Goldsmith's The Sand Pebbles is, unquestionably, one of the composer’s greatest achievements. At long last, music from the original motion picture soundtrack has now found its way to CD, featuring over 76-minutes of the Lionel Newman-conducted original soundtrack. And there are even a couple of bonus tracks!
One of Maurice Jarre’s most loved scores of the 80s, the composer’s lushly romantic score from The Bride is finally available on CD for the first time. Recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this budget-priced super limited edition won’t last long.
The first collaboration between Robert Zemeckis and Alan Silvestri finally receives its first soundtrack release. Romancing the Stone was a huge box office hit, but a soundtrack was never released. This CD features over 60 minutes of music with even a dash of Alfred Newman to kick it off! Each CD has a limited edition of 3,000 copies.
