Varese releases Simone and FearDotCom
15-Aug-2002 - One of the most original and anticipated films of the summer, Simone is a new film from Andrew Niccol, the director of the acclaimed Gattaca. With the entire canon of Coen Brothers films behind him (Fargo, Raising Arizona, O Brother, Where Art Thou, etc.), Carter Burwell was the perfect composer for this wry film of Hollywood taking a closer look at itself, from the writer of The Truman Show.
“Do you like to watch?” A woman’s voice beckons from the computer. Images flash across the screen — parted lips, bound wrists, flesh. Her seductive tone summons you closer, inviting you in. “Do you want to see more?” If you click “yes” — and you know you want to — you’ll be logged on to the internet site Feardot.com, and the game begins. The tense and terrifying score is by composer Nicholas Pike.
