Quartet Records and Paramount Pictures present the world premiere release of Nelson Riddle’s score for Rough Cut. The plot is about two sophisticated jewel thieves joining forces to steal $30 million in uncut jewels. Despite a continuous exchange of quips, they eventually become romantically involved. Since Siegel’s usual composer, Lalo Schifrin, was committed to another project, he turned instead to Riddle, who provides Rough Cut with a delicious, elegant, punchy and sparkling score. Riddle’s original score features delicious bossa-novas, elegant jazz atmospheres, romantic moods, brilliant suspense music, a beautiful love theme and incidental music in the best Mancini style.
