Lalo Schifrin's The Hellstrom Chronicle
8-Nov-2003 - At last and totally unexpected, Aleph Records has released Lalo Schifrin's favorite score for the 1971 documentary The Hellstrom Chronicle. Unexpected because in an interview 2 years ago, Lalo told us that, despite this was his favorite score, it was impossible to release it. Tapes had disappeared and reconstruct the score was impossible because of the rare instruments (Moog and Yamaha synthesizers a.o.) that were used. But... here it is..! Now we are waiting for the release of the award-winning documentary on DVD, maybe with an audio-commentary by the maestro himself. Very interesting to see how the music and sounds match with the movie. Buy this limited edition from Aleph Records.
