To coincide with MGM’s brand new 2-DVD special edition of the film, Varèse Sarabande comes with this special remastering of the original soundtrack album for The Great Escape at a special, reduced price. Elmer Bernstein’s music is a true classic, featuring one of the most memorable and famous themes of his long career. This release has bigger, fuller, cleaner sound than has been heard on any previous CD. In addition to removing the dialog excerpts that were included on the previous Ryko CD, the reversed channels problem that afflicted that release has been corrected.
