Lord Of The Rings Symphony Premiere
31-Aug-2004 - Film scores from the Oscar-winning trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" come to life in Howard Shore's "The Lord of the Rings Symphony", a grand six-movement journey that takes us from the tranquility of the Shire, to the horrors of Mordor and explosive Mount Doom. The musical passage into the realm of Middle Earth features over 100 musicians of the Hartford Symphony with chorus, soloists, conducted by Alastair Willis, and with visuals by acclaimed illustrator Alan Lee and includes music from the epic films The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

Howard Shore's "The Lord of the Rings Symphony" will premiere in New England with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, September 18, 2004 (8 pm) and Sunday, September 19, 2004 (3 pm) at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut.
