Stephan Zacharias' Der Untergang
27-Sep-2004 - Colosseum Records in Germany has released Stephan Zacharias' score for the touching movie Der Untergang. It's the story of Hitler's and his closest confidantes' last days in April 1945 in the Fuehrer’s bunker in Berlin. Among them Traudl Junge, Hitler’s private secretary. Although Berlin can no longer be held, the Fuehrer refuses to leave the city. Only hours before their joint suicide, he marries Eva Braun. Then their corpses are burned so that they do not fall into the hands of the enemy. Shortly thereafter Traudl Junge and several others manage to escape at the last minute...
