Steve Jablonsky's Steamboy
27-Oct-2004 - Colosseum Records in Germany has released Steamboy, Katsuhiro Otomo’s long-awaited first feature length film since Akira. A retro science-fiction epic set in Victorian England, Steamboy features an inventor prodigy named Ra Stim who receives a mysterious metal ball containing a new form of energy capable of powering an entire nation. This young boy must use it to fight evil, redeem his family, and save London from destruction. Steve Jablonsky's adventurous score is everything one would expect for an epic anime and more. The score is almost purely orchestral, and covers a wide expanse of styles, from racing strings and pounding percussion to soaring brass.
