Christopher Young's The Grudge
15-Nov-2004 - Varèse Sarabande has released The Grudge, the story from Japanese lore about a murderous supernatural curse passed from victim to victim in an endless, ever-growing chain of horror. This is the new, American version of the blockbuster Japanese film of the same name. Takashi Shimizu, who directed the original, also directed this version. The musical score is by Christopher Young, who became famous with Hellraiser, one of the most beautiful horror scores ever. The Japanese version of The Grudge, entitled Ju-On, has an enormous cult following worldwide. Following in the tradition of The Ring (another Japanese horror film remade for American audiences to the tune of $128 million at the box office), The Grudge is one of the most anticipated films of the fall.
