Bruce Broughton's The Prodigal
5-Apr-2005 - Intrada Records has released in its Intrada Signature Edition series the score from the very first Bruce Broughton feature film, The Prodigal(1983). For this dramatic family crisis story, Broughton engages a full compliment of strings, woodwinds, guitars, piano, percussion plus a judicious use of the French horn. Bruce Broughton also wrote his own "source" music as well as two songs that are spotlighted in the picture, including the memorable "I Have Today" sung by the incomparable B. J. Thomas. Intrada presents the entire orchestral score direct from the stereo session masters as well as a "bonus" section featuring the original source cues and songs.
