FSM's May releases...
22-May-2005 - Film Score Monthly has released from the Warner Bros. archives of vintage M-G-M television material and Norman Felton's Arena Productions this doubleheader of rare projects: Jericho (1966), a short-lived CBS action-adventure series scored by much of the staff from The Man From U.N.C.L.E.; Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schifrin, Morton Stevens, Richard Shores, and Gerald Fried. Also on this CD The Ghostbreaker (1965), a one-hour pilot starring Kerwin Mathews as a parapsychologist investigator. John (then "Johnny") Williams wrote a dynamite theme, and a creepy score including harpsichord and solo soprano. The score is a forgotten jewel by one of the world's most famous composers.
Two Weeks in Another Town (1962) was an unofficial companion film to one of the most famous productions about the movie business, The Bad and the Beautiful. The newer film reunited star Kirk Douglas, director Vincente Minnelli, producer John Houseman, writer Charles Schnee, and composer David Raksin in a new story. FSM's premiere CD of the Two Weeks In Another Town score features the complete score in stereo, remixed and remastered from the 35mm three-track recordings.
