FSM's July releases...
15-Jul-2005 - Film Score Monthly presents in their Golden Age Classics Series two soundtrack LPs from the Colpix Records catalog - never before available on CD. The Devil At 4 O'Clock starred Spencer Tracy and Frank Sinatra in an early "disaster" movie involving a volcano annihilating a South Pacific island. The symphonic score by George Duning features one of the composer's quintessential love themes. The Victors was an unusual "message" film about a group of American troops who are emotionally devastated World War II. The unorthodox score by Sol Kaplan is used to melancholy, ironic effect in the picture, often as source music - symphonic but with a "pop" flavor.
A Silver Age Classics is Knight Rider, a hit NBC-TV series starring David Hasselhoff as a lone crusader armed with "Kitt," the world's most sophisticated car. This premiere CD features original soundtrack music from the first half of the show's first season, produced in conjunction with the composer, Stu Phillips, and his Wrightview Productions.
