In The Nursery's Electric Edwardians
26-Sep-2005 - The ITN Corporation has released an extra-ordinary score, Electric Edwardians, for a movie from the Mitchell & Kenyon Collection, an amazing filmic record of every day life in Britain at the beginning of the twentieth century. Consisting of twenty-eight hours of non-fiction footage taken primarily in the North of England, it has been described as the most exciting film discovery of recent times. The music is composed by Klive and Nigel Humberstone, as In The Nursery. They have produced a soundtrack that both enriches the films and draws out the emotional impact of the faces and movement of the everyday people as they stroll across the screen. Their soundtrack is both emotive and poignant without sentimentalising the material or ignoring the rich musical tradition of the edwardian period.
