Philippe Sarde's Le Mystère De La Chambre Jaune/Le Parfum De La Dame En Noir
28-Sep-2005 - Universal Music France has released, in her series Ecoutez Le Cinéma two scores on one CD from famous French film composer Philippe Sarde. For director Bruno Podalydès' movie Le Mystère De La Chambre Jaune (2003), a brilliant adaptation of the famous novel from writer Gaston Leroux, Sarde wrote an intriguing score. Two years later came the sequel from the same director, Bruno Polyadès with the same cast, completed by Vincent Elbaz and Zabou, Le Parfum De La Dame En Noir, and again with a score by Philippe Sarde. Sarde used a kind of chamber orchestra with several unexpected soloists; an oboe, bass flute and glass harmonica, to create an atmosphere of mystery, of magic and of supernatural.
