Jointly-composed by Argentina's leading film composers, the soundtrack features delicate romantic writing for full orchestra and original pastiche tangos. The album is newly-mastered and features comprehensive liner notes. The composers' music is performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Argentina with resplendent, virtuosic solos by famed bandoneon performer (and contemporary of Astor Piazolla), Nestor Marconi. Nominated in 2004 for two World Soundtrack Awards and a Silver Condor at the Argentinean Film Critics Association Awards, La Puta Y La Ballena finally has a long-deserved international release.
