J. Peter Robinson's The World's Fastest Indian
13-Feb-2006 - Milan Records has released The World's Fastest Indian, the inspirational true life story of New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years rebuilding a 1920 Indian motorcycle - a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in the 1970s. The film stars Anthony Hopkins, Bruce Greenwood and Diane Ladd and is directed by Roger Donaldson. Composer J. Peter Robinson about this film: "Roger likes to work very closely with his composers, pushing them in order to find something in their creative souls that they otherwise have ignored." With a 61-piece orchestra in front of him, Robinson scored a variety of cues, from a soft tender moment featuring pianist Mike Lang and violinist Bruce Dukov, to a tense action cue integrating a bit of electronic percussion that underscored a dramatic race sequence.
